Where Do You Write?: Do the tunes matter?
A favorite author of mine, Laurell K. Hamilton, wrote about the music she listened to when she wrote. In fact, she talked about how she wrote a specific short novel based on the music she was listening to at the time.
I’m not so much about the tunes. My usual writing spot is in the local Starbucks, and I listen to whatever they have on the speakers. Sometimes I even haul out my phone and try to Shazam some tune I like. I’ve downloaded way too much music at Starbucks, so I guess the aural ambiance agrees with me.
How about you, Fellow Writers? Do you have to jam the tunes to get in the mood to write?
